This Year at the Guffey Library we will offer curbside bags for our Summer Reading Program. You can register online for the weeks you choose to participate. The bags will include a craft project for each theme, reading logs, extra instructions for fun projects to do at home, and age appropriate books to go along with the themes. Supplies provided for crafts exclude glue, tape and scissors.

Week of July 27th: Wizards and Wands

Week of Aug. 3rd: Magical Unicorns

Throughout the summer we are also promoting “book bucks”. Read a book to your child and have them retell the story to you in their own words. For more advanced readers, book report forms will be available. Have your child earn “book bucks” to accumulate for prizes, compliments of the Friends of the Guffey Library, all through the summer.

We hope that we can all come together in late August at a socially appropriate distance with a pizza party and/or ice cream social.

The Guffey Library’s FREE Summer Reading Program is a GREAT way to keep children interested in reading this summer and… for the rest of their lives. As always, thank you for your support of the Guffey Library and for encouraging your children to relish the joy of reading. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any and all questions.
