About Us
The mission of the Park County Public Libraries is to educate, encourage, enlighten and entertain.
Park County Public Libraries serve the communities of Bailey, Fairplay, Guffey, and Lake George with welcoming spaces, responsive services, and a shared commitment to education and entertainment for all ages. Our library system began in 1966 with donated books, volunteer dedication, and a vision for accessible reading and lifelong learning throughout Park County. Since then each of our four branch libraries has grown from modest beginnings into vibrant community hubs offering collections, technology, programs, and local resources.
Today we continue that spirit of service. Whether you are visiting to find your next great read, use public computers and WiFi, attend a program, explore local history, or connect with neighbors, our libraries are here to support curiosity and community. Guided by a seven-member Board of Trustees and supported by Park County, we work to ensure that every resident has free and open access to information, ideas, and opportunities.
Park County Public Libraries honor our past while looking forward adapting, expanding, and building services that enrich life in the mountains we call home.
