Information about events the FOL hold

  • Everyone is invited to join the Friends of the Lake George Library. 
  • Dues are $10.00 a year.
  • Meetings are on the 4th Friday of each month at 9:15 am.
  • The Friends sponsor 3 book disscusion groups each month after the FOL meeting.
  • Cookbooks with all the recipes from past year's Cook-off and Tasting Parties are available for $3.00 a piece or 2 for $5.00.  A limited number of cookbooks are published and become collector's items.
  • Our annual Cook-Off and Tasting Party is on the last Saturday of January.  Every year is a different theme.  Call the Lake George Library for this year's theme, at 748-3812.  The fun starts at 5 PM at the Lake George Charter School and if you are bringing food, then be there at 4:30 PM with your dish and your recipe for the cookbook.  All entries recieve a free cookbook.  The cost is $5.00 per person.
  • Our annual Mystery Dinner Theater is the weekend before Memorial Weekend in May.  Call the library to reserve your tickets today.  We sell out fast and to FOL members first.
  • The 3rd weekend in August is our HUGE used book sale at the Lake George Community Park at the Extravaganza.  It starts at 9 AM and runs until rain.  Everything is on display and at prices that can't be beat.
  • In the first part of December we hold our annual Holiday Party.  Everyone brings their favorite dish to share and a white elephant gift.  There is always good food and lots of laughs.
