July is "Beach Read" Month
Get some sand between your toes and read a good book this summer. At the Lake George Library we are reading "beach reads". That is any book that is over a year old and is in paperback. Make it one of those books that you've always intended to read, but never had the time. Well, the time is right and it is NOW! Read a summer book and get entered into the drawing at the end of the month for special "summer" prizes. Check out the list of suggested books at the library. Have some fun and enjoy a good book.
"Catch a Bug?"
No, it's "Catch the Reading Bug" and it's this year's theme for the Summer Reading Program. All kids welcome. Read all summer long to earn "book bug bucks". Summer is short, so let’s get the most out of it and have fun on Mondays!!
Monday, June 2:
Caterpillars to Butterflies- read aloud, and make a pompom caterpillar craft and a cheese butterfly treat.
Monday, June 9:
Brigetta from the Manitou Art Theater will perform “Elephants”. All ages will enjoy the performance.
Monday, June 16:
Ants and Grasshoppers- read aloud, and make a spoon grasshopper craft and ants in a sand bag treat.
Monday, June 23:
Bill Anderson and Rodney, his rat puppet, will present “Buggy about Books” with loads of magic and fun for everyone.
Monday, June 30:
Wiggly Worms- read aloud, and make a finger puppet in an apple craft and a dirt cup treat.
Monday, July 7:
Bugs galore- read aloud, and make a fantastic firefly craft and a lucky ladybug treat.
See you at the library!
